MAIN ACTIVITIES OF THE CENTRE

On November 14-18, 2019, employees of the Center for Documentation and Tax Studies of the University of Lodz: Prof. Włodzimierz Nykiel, Prof. Ziemowit Kukulski and Dr. Małgorzata Sęk, under the bilateral executive agreement on academic cooperation concluded in 2016, visited the Chinese partner university Shanghai Lixin University of Accounting and Finance (Chinese: 上海 立信 会计 金融 学院, ShànghǎiLìxìnKuàijìJīnróngXuéyuàn). They were accompanied by Prof. Maria Królikowska-Olczak, head of the Department of European Economic Law, Faculty of Law and Administration, University of Lodz and dr Anna Górczyńska, head of the Center for Public Procurement and Public-Private Partnership of the University of Lodz.

On November 14, 2019, a meeting was held with the leaders of the School of Public Finance and Administration of Shanghai Lixin University of Accounting and Finance, during which the experience of mutual cooperation was summarized (including a visit of two researchers from Shanghai Lixin University of Accounting and Finance for one-year internships at the Center of Documentation and Tax Studies, organization of the first Polish-Chinese scientific conference on Recent Developments in Public Finance, Economy and Taxation in Poland and China, translation into Chinese of the monograph by employees and associates of the Center on Polish Tax System - Business Opportunities and Challenges, Warsaw 2017, scientific publications of Chinese partner university's employees in the Tax Law Quarterly). Decisions in fairer scientific cooperation were also made. As agreed, in the 2019/2020 academic year the Center for Documentation and Tax Studies of the University of Lodz will organize a summer tax law school for students of Shanghai Lixin University of Accounting and Finance, while at the beginning of the 2020/2021 academic year it is planned to organize the third at the Faculty of Law and Administration of the University of Lodz Polish-Chinese scientific conference.

On November 15, 2019, the second Sino-Polish scientific conference on Challenges of Digital Economy and Possible Solutions took place. The substantive part of the conference began with the speech by Prof. Włodzimierz Nykiel on Digital Economy - Main Features and Principles of Taxation. Prof. Ziemowit Kukulski presented a paper on Digital Permanent Establishment - Recent Developments and the EU's Proposals on Digital Tax, while Dr. Małgorzata Sęk on Sharing Economy - Selectd Tax Issues. Prof. Maria Królikowska-Olczak discussed issues related with the Overview of EU Competition Rules, while Dr. Anna Górczyńska - Public procurement in the EU Law. The Chinese part of the conference was represented by scholars of the Shanghai Lixin University of Accounting and Finance (including Prof. Duanlian Peng, Prof. Luo Qin, Prof. Yonggang Li, Prof. Liang Deming), Fudan University (Prof. Du Li), Shanghai University of Finance and Economics (Prof. Zhu Weigun) and Shanghai Social Sciences Academy (Dr. ZelinXue).

November 18, 2019 Prof. Włodzimierz Nykiel, Prof. Ziemowit Kukulskiidr MałgorzataSęk delivered guest lecturers to the students of Shanghai Lixin University of Accounting and Finance and students of Shanghai Business School (Prof. Włodzimierz Nykiel) and students of Fudan University (Prof. Ziemowit Kukulski).
